Leasing locos for container and car transports
Germany-based transport company Eisenbahnen und Verkehrsbetriebe Elbe-Weser (EVB) has leased two Siemens Smartron locomotives and one Vectron dual mode locomotive from Northrail.
The handover of the first Smartron locomotive will take place in December 2022, with the second to follow in March. They will be used to transport containers and automobiles by rail. In addition, EVB will put a Vectron dual mode into service from June 2023. EVB already has one company-owned Siemens Smartron locomotive in its vehicle fleet.
Northrail will be responsible for the asset management of the locomotives while maintenance services will be provided by Siemens. (ben)
