Latam lights first candle for SJK-MIA route
The new scheduled full-freighter service between São José dos Campos Airport (SJK), located northeast of São Paulo, and Miami (MIA) celebrated its first anniversary on 17 June 2024.
The route is operated by Latam Cargo Brazil twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, with a Boeing B767-300F freighter aircraft. Within the first twelve months, over 1,600 t were transported on the new route. The majority of the freight flown on this connection is general cargo and electronics.
The service is particularly important for the rapid import of electronic components for many companies in Brazil's second-largest industrial cluster in the Vale do Paraiba region and, above all, for the aerospace industry based there. Embraer has its headquarters in São José dos Campos. (dt)
