Kribi's greening recognised

The award is the fruit of a longer process. In Cameroon, Kribi Conteneurs Terminal (KCT), which operates the container terminal of the Autonomous Port of Kribi, has been granted the Green Terminal label following an audit recently conducted by Bureau Veritas.

The terminal's eco-responsible measures included work procedures, building infrastructure in line with international standards, waste management and training employees in best environmental practices. KCT also has a rainwater and wastewater treatment plant and uses the hydro power network to avoid the use of diesel.

Implementing systems to digitise activities also made it possible to significantly reduce the greenhouse gas emissions released by stakeholders.

Kribi Contenders Terminal is a consortium consisting of a group of shareholders from Cameroon, Bolloré, CMA CGM and CHEC. It holds the concession to operate the container terminal at Kribi’s deep water port. (sh)
