Joint efforts on the Eurasian rail route
Russia-based UTLC ERA and Lithuanian Railways have signed an agreement to manage postal container traffic from China to Lithuania. The partners intend to jointly develop the shipment of postal packages (deliveries and e-commerce goods) by cargo trains on China – Europe – China routes on a regular basis.
UTLC ERA will provide containers to be loaded with postal items at platforms in the Dostyk and Altynkol rail stations in Kazakhstan that are operated by Kazakhstan Railways.
Lithuanian Railways will be responsible for handling container trains at the Kena border railway station near Belarus and subsequently deliver postal packages to the Vaidotai railway station in the intermodal terminal of Vilnius (Lithuania). (ben)
