JD Logistics covers more ground
JD Logistics, the logistics arm of Chinese online retailer JD.com, was a significant contributor to the company’s successful performance in 2021.
For the full year 2021, JD.com reported revenues of RMB 951.6 billion (USD 149.3 billion), 27.6% up from the full year 2020. Income from operations for the full year 2021 was RMB 4.1 billion (USD 600 million), a third of the RMB 12.3 billion (USD 200 million) earned in the full year 2020.
The company reports three segments, JD Retail, JD Logistics and new businesses. JD Logistics’ net revenues reached USD 16.4 billion in 2021, on operating losses of USD 286.7 million. As of 31 December 2021, JD Logistics operated over 1,300 warehouses with a gross floor area of over 24.0 million sqm. (sh)
