JAS Worldwide targets Nordic countries
Freight forwarding services provider JAS Worldwide, which is based in Atlanta, Georgia (USA), is acquiring Greencarrier Freight Services International, the freight forwarding, logistics and supply chain management division of Greencarrier Group.
The company is headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, where it was founded in 2000. Greencarrier Freight Services operates through offices in eleven countries and with 800 employees.
For Marco Rebuffi, CEO of JAS, it is a "strategic acquisition to add to the company's position in the Nordic, Baltic, and Eastern European regions and strengthen existing operations in UK and China."
The takeover follows a longstanding partnership. JAS counted four acquisitions in one year, each in a different region. The current deal is still subject to regulatory approval. JAS Worldwide JAS was founded in Milan, Italy in 1978. (sh)
