JAL's first full freighter flights for nine years
In accordance with an agreement between Japan Airlines and Kalitta Air, the US carrier has been operating three codeshare B747-400F flights per week between Tokyo-NRT and Chicago-ORD since 1 August 2019.
In recent years, since it ceased offering its own maindeck capacity, JAL has chartered freighter flights based on seasonal demand, but through this codeshare arrangement with Kalitta Air, the carrier will now offer scheduled freighter services between Asia and North America.
The Japanese carrier announced that, together with its partner, JAL will strive to deliver a more comprehensive freighter network and provide convenient options for its customers. (ah)
