Inner Mongolia now linked with Laos
China has launched a new cross-border rail service between Inner Mongolia and Laos. Transport time on the China-Laos railway is reduced by about half compared to previous road haulage services.
The first freight train, loaded with 37 t of automobile accessories, recently departed from the Qisumu International Railway Logistics Park in Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia and arrived at Vientiane, the capital of Laos, ten days later.
The launch of the new train creates a rapid trade channel between Inner Mongolia and Southeast Asian countries and also boosts the transport of Inner Mongolian products to the countries along the "Belt and Road", China Railways said. (ben)
