Hungarian coaches for Egypt
DHL is supporting Dunakeszi Járműjavító Kft to transport the largest order of rolling stock in the country's history. 676 passenger coaches will be delivered from the production site in Dunakeszi, Hungary, to Egypt within a period of 32 months.
DHL will manage the end-to-end transport of the coaches, each 24.5 m long and 4.5 m high and weighing 48 t. Packaged for export, they will be carried by rail to the port of Koper, Slovenia, from where DHL will ship them to the port of Alexandria and then transfer them directly onto Egypt's railway network. The first batch arrived safely in Alexandria on 23 February 2013.
