Hong Kong's largest cold storage facility
In partnership with Chinachem Group, a Hong Kong-based property developer, ESR Group Limited broke ground today, 2 October 2023, to begin the construction of a prime cold storage and logistics facility in Kwai Chung, the first-of-its-kind and the largest to be built in Hong Kong in the last 20 years.
The Kwai Chung Cold Storage Logistics Centre is set for completion in 2027. Chinachem and ESR are bringing their combined expertise in project management and development into the project, with ESR adding its experience in sustainable development.
Chinachem Group, ESR and CLPe will explore EV solutions to promote green transport. Upon its completion, the Kwai Chung Cold Storage Logistics Centre will employ digital and automation technologies, operational flexibility, energy management and modern design to enable tenants to achieve greater efficiency and lower environmental impact, the partners said.
