Hödlmayr acquires Laaers carriers
The Austria-based transport company is leasing Laers automobile carriers from Gatx Rail, with the first batch to be delivered by the end of 2024. Hödlmayr is Gatx’s first customer to use Laers automobile carriers, which bring advanced loading options and capacity to handle heavier electric vehicles.
The collaboration expands sustainable automotive transportation in Europe, Gatx said. The Laers carrier can transport a variety of vehicles and helps to achieve Hödlmayr’s goal of doubling rail proportion by 2030.
Hödlmayr is a family-owned specialist for automobile logistics services and operates throughout Europe. It generated a turnover of EUR 400 million in 2023. (ben)
