HGK to shift more trucks to rail
The trimodal specialist has introduced a new rail service. It runs three times a week between the HGK terminal Duisburg Gateway West (Germany) and five terminals in Rotterdam (Netherlands) and is intended to shift more container traffic from road to rail.
In addition to CO2 savings, rail transport has other advantages, namely improved punctuality, lower toll costs and the option of temporarily storing containers at the HGK terminal in the hinterland of Rotterdam.
The HGK Group connects major business centres along the Rhine with the logistics hubs in Europe with its network and by truck, rail and barge. (ben)
