HGK Shipping joins Green Award Inland Navigation
HGK Shipping, which runs Europe’s largest inland navigation fleet with 350 owned and chartered vessels, is joining the Green Award certification programme. Green Award Inland Navigation promotes safety and sustainability in inland navigation.
Jan Fransen, executive director of Green Award: "The fact that HGK, one of the sector's major players, has chosen Green Award as a tool to promote sustainability in inland navigation is an extra boost of motivation for our team."
Steffen Bauer, CEO HGK Shipping: "The cooperation with Green Award is another measure to make inland shipping even more environmentally friendly." Vessels flying the shipping company's flag may now also claim 100% reimbursement of Green Award certification costs. (lh)
