Helping victims of cyclone Chido

Since cyclone Chido struck the French island of Mayotte in the western Indian Ocean in December, Air Charter Service has been actively arranging charter flights to the region carrying humanitarian aid. So far, the company has flown in more than 1,000 t of aid there, with operations still ongoing.

Ben Dinsdale, the director of government and humanitarian services at Air Charter Service, stated that “we were first contacted the following day and arranged our first charter to the region less than 72 hours after the cyclone hit the island. Unfortunately, the situation in Mayotte only worsened, as another tropical storm, cyclone Dikeledi, caused flooding and mudslides, due to heavy rainfall. We hope that’s the last of it for them and that the aid reaches those who need it.” (cj)
