Havi shouldering transport for Gorillas
Duisburg-based Havi Logistics is taking over logistics services in Germany for the start-up Gorillas. The service provider has initially taken over the logistics services for Gorillas' dry and frozen assortment. In addition, the logistics provider uses local locations as intermediate storage sites for more pre-suppliers and then carries all the goods straight to numerous micro-fulfilment centres in several major German cities.
"We want to specifically expand our experience and knowledge in setting up food logistics to other industry segments," says Roland Schmidt, CEO of Havi Logistics. Founded in 1974, the logistics company employs more than 10,000 people and supplies customers in over 100 countries. Its customers include McDonald's, Ikea, Subway, Starbucks, KFC and Shell. (sh)
