Hapag-Lloyd: new head for ME business


Lars Sorensen assumed his new role as senior managing director region Middle East based in Dubai (UAE) on 1 January 2024. Sorensen joined Hapag-Lloyd five years ago as managing director area India.

 

Sorensen replaces Dheeraj Bhatia, who will join the Hapag-Lloyd executive board as CEO of the new Rotterdam-based Hapag-Lloyd Terminal Holding on the same date.

 

With a fleet of 264 modern container ships and a total transport capacity of 2.0 million teu, Hapag-Lloyd is one of the world’s major liner shipping companies. In the liner shipping segment, the company has around 13,500 employees and 400 offices in 135 countries. Hapag-Lloyd has a container capacity of 2.9 million teu – including a large fleet of reefer containers. (cj)
