Hapag-Lloyd extending Wax
The Hamburg-based carrier Hapag-Lloyd is extending its West Africa Express service (Wax) and adding a call at the port of Le Havre. The shipping company says that the new port of call will offer a direct product with a fast transit-time to Tema (Ghana) and Abidjan (Ivory Coast), as well as the Benelux region.
The Wax service will use the port of Tangier as a key connection point between the North European and West African markets. In addition, Tangier will ensure the Hamburg connection to West Africa through alternative Hapag-Lloyd services. The revised service called at Le Havre for the first time on 22 June. (sh)
