Handling non-food logistics in France
XPO has announced a collaboration with Metro Markets as the latter inaugurates its new French logistics platform for non-food e-commerce. Metro Marketplace offers non-food products for hotels and restaurants.
Building on the success of initial launches in Europe, Metro inaugurated an 18,300 sqm warehouse in Roye, France, on 12 September 2023. The new warehouse brings together 3,300 direct non-food references (furniture, food preparation, office supplies, etc.) for a total of 100,000 references available for order.
XPO Logistics will handle bulky goods with its palletised distribution and last-mile delivery service. One of its distribution hubs is located close to Roze and features 175 employees with 127 semi-trailers. Thus, the two networks will add up to enable France-wide deliveries. (mk)
