GTA Dnata to begin operations in Vancouver
GTA Dnata has been awarded a five-year ground handling licence and will establish operations at Vancouver airport. Starting in the fourth quarter of 2020, the company will provide cargo warehousing, ramp and passenger services to airlines.
Already partnering 17 airlines in Toronto, GTA Dnata's expansion into Vancouver cements the company's position as a leading air services provider in Canada, moving over 90,000 t of cargo and assisting 1.2 million passengers at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) in 2020.
The Emirates group member entered the Canadian aviation market by establishing GTA Dnata through the acquisition of a 50% stake in GTA Aviation's cargo and ground handling operations at YVZ in 2016. Since then, it has invested in its team of now 700 employees, infrastructure and equipment. (ah)
