Growing intermodal network in Western Australia

Intermodal Group continues to expand its railfreight network in the Perth metropolitan area, by launching a rail service between North Quay (Fremantle Port) and the newly opened Kenwick Intermodal Terminal (IMT) in Western Australia. The train is operated by Watco Australia.

The transload facility is set to play a crucial role in increasing container rail volumes through the North Quay Rail Terminal and the future Westport and thus enhancing the efficiency of Western Australia’s metropolitan railfreight supply chain, Intermodal Group said. The Kenwick IMT has a throughput capacity of 200,000 teu, including an empty container park. (ben)
