Groke pro system debuts in Europe
Groke Technologies, based in Finland, has secured its first European contract to supply and install its Groke pro situational awareness system on two bulk carriers operated by an undisclosed Greek shipowner.
Following successful deployments in Japan, particularly on the wind-assisted bulker “Pyxis Ocean”, Groke Technologies will install the system on a 60,960 dwt geared bulk carrier and an ultramax vessel later this month.
The Groke pro system, which enhances navigational safety through AI and machine vision technologies, includes a sensor unit with thermal and day cameras, IMU, Dual GNSS, and AIS receivers, and a 27-inch bridge display along with iPad Pro tablets for the user interface.
Additionally, Groke Fleet will provide shoreside fleet management capabilities. The installation and commissioning will be completed in one day while the vessels remain operational. (pb)
