Greener sailing on the Rhine
HGK Gas Shipping has added the “GAS 95” to its fleet on the Rhine. Launched on 8 February 2024, this vessel has a diesel-electric propulsion system, a future-proof design, and deep-draft optimisation, and its power management system further reduces fuel consumption. With extreme depth optimisation, the ship can navigate the Rhine even during low-water periods, thus ensuring continuous cargo transport.
Scheduled to operate between ARA ports and various Rhine stations, “GAS 95” complies with the highest environmental and safety standards. The company's future plans include certification under the green award scheme and the commissioning of more eco-friendly vessels like “GAS 96”. (pb)
