Giampiero Soncini returns to the helm
Giampiero Soncini, former officer of the Italian Navy, a ship manager under NATO and a recognised IT expert in the maritime sector, is returning to the bridge. His appointment as managing director of Oceanly was announced recently.
Esa Group established the newco Oceanly last December after finalising the acquisition of this business unit, which originally belonged to IB, from the Norwegian company Arribatec.
Oceanly develops and supports “Performance” a software dedicated to the monitoring of ship performance and the control of related emissions.
Oceanly will have two managing directors: Soncini, who will mainly deal with the commercial and technological development linked to the Performance product, will share the leadership with MD Gian Enzo Duci. (cj)
