Getlink's rail operator equips locos with ETCS
Europorte is modernising its fleet of Euro4000 locomotives by investing in ETCS (European Train Control System) technology. Getlink’s railfreight subsidiary is the first French railfreight company to equip ten Euro4000 locomotives with this rail signalling technology.
To carry out this project, Europorte and Beacon commissioned the Belgian company Transurb, which specialises in the integration of railway signalling technologies.
The EUR 8.5 million investment is co-financed to 60% by Europorte’s long-standing partner, the Luxemburg-based rolling stock leasing company Beacon Rail and supported by subsidies from the European Commission. (ben)
