Geodis: IIP accreditation in APAC

Geodis has achieved “Investors in People” (IIP) accreditation in twelve locations, as a result of the global supply chain operator’s recent efforts in the Asia-Pacific region (APAC).

The IIP certification is an international standard for people management, which is based on the concept of sustainable high performance and is recognised in 66 countries.

Geodis’ recent accreditation places the company in the line with IIP’s certificated companies, which have to achieve proven set levels of performance in the areas of personnel management: leading, supporting, improving.

To achieve IIP standards, Geodis has focused on the following points. “The set-up of employee engagement focus groups corresponds to one of the nine IIP key indicators labelled “empowering and involving people”; “the cross-department job rotation schemes in various ASEAN countries is an initiative that is in line with the IIP indicator entitled “structuring work” within the ‘support’ sector”; as well as “all Geodis’ teams in APAC employ the lean six sigma (LSS) green belt approach and EES planning processes, actions that conform with the IIP indicator “delivering continuous improvement.”

Onno Boots, who was elected regional president & CEO, Asia, on 25 June 2021, adds that “programmes such as the recently launched ‘Manage!’ support leaders through training and is an example of how Geodis is investing in its people and their readiness to meet the challenges of a fast-growing team.” (amh)
