Gefco testing Duotrailer
The automotive logistics provider Gefco has begun testing the Duotrailer in Spain. The vehicle combination consists of a 600 hp truck and a 13.6 m long trailer that provides more than 180 cbm of storage space.
Test drives are currently taking place between the Peugeot factories in Vigo Villaverde. The Duotrailer is used to transport packaging and stamped parts. Gefco expects that the Duotrailers will be more efficient as only one driver is needed. Productivity gains are expected to be around the 20-30% mark.
Juan Ramon Serrano, Gefco Spain’s head of transport, declared: "The Duotrailer will make us more competitive, improve service and reduce fuel consumption." (mw)
