Fuso eCanter used to deliver furniture
Daimler Trucks’ Japan-based subsidiary Fuso has delivered three all-electric Fuso eCanter light-duty trucks to Ikea in Japan. It is the first home furnishing company to receive this brand. Ikea Japan operates two of the three vehicles and one is owned by logistics partner SG Moving.
The 7.49 t truck has a range of 100-km and is used for deliveries between Ikea in Kohoku and Harajuku. It drives an average of 50 km per day with one return trip between the stores.
However, on some days, the truck does two return trips between the stores, travelling a distance exceeding 100 km and proving that it can operate within its full driving range. (ben)
