Further boost for express China rail service to UK
With China’s Golden Week holiday in full swing, the ongoing issues affecting ocean freight container imports into the UK from the Far East is making forwarder Davies Turner’s overland service more attractive.
“Schedule disruption, ongoing delays in vessel discharge, loading and many other problems has resulted in a surge of interest for our direct express LCL & FCL rail service from China to the UK,” the forwarder said. Unlike the ocean freight alternative, there are no disruptions in the overland rail service.
The weekly train runs from Chinese Wuhan to Duisburg in Germany. From here the containers are trucked to the port of Rotterdam and transported by ferry to Purfleet in East London. (ben)
