Funding to promote autonomous trucking
Fernride has secured USD 31 million in Series A funding to accelerate the transition towards automated and sustainable logistics.
The German autonomous, electric trucking specialist has already integrated automated trucks into the productive operations of companies like Volkswagen, DB Schenker, BSH, and HHLA over the past twelve months.
The latest funding will be used to scale its operations with existing and new customers globally and boost the development of technologies for “human-assisted autonomy”.
One of the major challenges in the logistics industry today is an extreme shortage of truck drivers. Although autonomous driving is the obvious solution to these challenges, many issues remain unsolved. (ben)
