Fully electric trucks for French logistics
Geodis is trialling new urban electric trucks in Paris and Lyon. The vehicles, dubbed Oxygen, were created in collaboration with Renault Trucks in 2022.
The test phase for this transport solution is currently in operation in Lyon, where it will remain until the beginning of October until moving north to Paris. Originally developed in 2022 as part of a collaboration between the logistics provider and Renault Trucks, the 16 t trucks will be tested for a period of four months in total, spanning from September to December. After this trial, their performance in downtown deliveries and city logistics conditions can be analysed and evaluated.
Based on this and other projects, Geodis will be looking to use low-carbon solutions for deliveries in 100 French conurbations by the end of the year. (mk)
