From Seko to AGS
Accelerated Global Solutions (AGS), a freight forwarder and logistics specialist, has appointed Tony Barnes to the newly created position of global chief commercial & growth officer.
Barnes brings 35 years of global experience in logistics and supply chain management. His career includes executive positions such as senior director at A.P. Moller-Maersk in Hong Kong and senior vice president, global ocean product development at Ceva Logistics. Most recently, he served as president, Asia Pacific at Seko Logistics. At AGS, Barnes will also assume the role of global head of ocean product.
This key appointment follows the recent acquisition of AGS by Chris Zheng, founder of Speed X, a fast-growing, tech-enabled last-mile delivery provider. Zheng has signalled his aim to build a USD 1 billion end-to-end supply chain solution enterprise within 18 months. (cj)
