From Knorr-Bremse to Nexxiot
Nexxiot’s board of directors has selected Maximilian Eichhorn as new CEO. Previously vice president digital products and services at Knorr-Bremse, Eichhorn brings experience in steering digital innovation and creating scalable value for transport customers.
The two companies previously signed a strategic investment and cooperation agreement to co-develop intelligent, connected solutions in rail, and have been collaborating on digitalisation for the past few years.
Asset Intelligence company Nexxiot will continue to develop products to make rail and intermodal operations more efficient, safe, and sustainable. This supports the EU directive to shift 30% of road freight over 300 km to rail and waterborne transport by 2030. The EU’s goal is to double railfreight traffic by 2050. Nexxiot deploys a global IoT device fleet of around 1 million digital railcars and shipping containers. (cj)
