From Europe to Middle East in just nine days
Milton Group completed a 40-day maritime journey in just nine days by truck. This fast road transport was made possible by using the TIR system. The Milton truck departed from Latvia and transited Lithuania, Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Türkiye, Iran, by ro-ro vessel to the UAE and by truck further via Saudi Arabia to Kuwait.
Without TIR, Milton would not have been able to offer this transit time, the haulier said. The Milton Group is not alone to transport goods eastwards from Europe, the International Road Transport Union (IRU) said. A Moldovan operator recently used TIR to transport goods from Europe to India via Türkiye and the Bandar Abbas port in Iran in record time. (ben)
