France introduces new transport certificate

As part of the implementation of the French prime minister's directive No. 6149/SG on Covid-19 in terms of border controls, the ministry of the interior has drawn up an official declaration to be used for France.

This document (international travel certificate) is required for entry to and transit through French territory as of now. The certificate applies to travellers but also to freight transports and must be presented to the border control authorities at any type of border.

The travel certificate is personalised, and has to be carried by all drivers. If two drivers relay one another in a truck, they will need two separate declarations. Furthermore, supporting documents such as confirmation of freight carrier status have to be presented together with the international travel certificate. (ben)
