Four weekly roundtrips to Rotterdam
The Austrian OeBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) will operate scheduled services between Linz (Austria) and Rotterdam (The Netherlands) via Duisburg (Germany), initially offering four round trips per week.
With the service, cargo can be transferred within Rotterdam to all maritime and continental terminals in the Maasvlakte and Waalhaven industrial and port areas, as well as to Antwerp and Zeebrugge, RCG said.
On the new route, the carrier can transport all types of stackable containers between 20 and 45 feet as well as dangerous goods. Trains bound for Rotterdam can also accommodate swap bodies. RCG is planning to add an option for cranable trailers in the future. (ben)
