Flying big cargo on first and last mile
Flying Whales, a French company that designs and develops airships for logistics purposes, and Louis Dreyfus Armateurs (LDA), a 3PL freight forwarder experienced in transport and logistics involving specific maritime solutions, have signed a MOU to commercialise an air cargo transport solution. It is based on the use of the LCA60T airship - an innovative design lifted by 180'000 cbm of helium with a payload of 60 t.
LDA president Edouard Louis-Dreyfus: "By combining our expertise, we want to offer an innovative solution capable of solving particular issues that oversize cargoes face on the first and lasts miles of their voyage. This will be a significant benefit for customers of our maritime logistics services." (ah)
