First toll service without on-board unit
The French toll service provider Axxès and the technology company Continental are set to offer toll services for commercial vehicle fleets that don’t rely on on-board units (OBUs).
Data from the VDO DTCO 4.1, the next Continental version of the intelligent tachograph, will be used instead for electronic toll collection. This data is transferred to the Axxès cloud via Continental’s ‘road usage service platform (Crus).
Axxès uses Continental's VDO link to connect customer fleets to the cloud, a connectivity solution that plugs into the front interface of the tachograph. (ben)
