First orders following the launch of an H2 truck
The Nikola Corporation, a zero-emissions truck manufacturer from the USA, has launched its first hydrogen-fuel-cell electric truck at its facility in Coolidge AZ (USA). The vehicle has a range of 800 km and an estimated fuelling time of 20 minutes. It is said to have one of the longest ranges of all commercially available zero tailpipe-emission class 8 trucks.
It may be used for drayage and intermodal services, metro-regional truckloads and less-than-truckloads as well as certain specialised hauling projects, the company said.
Nikola has already received 223 non-binding orders for the new model from 23 customers, including fleet operators such as J.B. Hunt, AJR Trucking, Biagi and TTSI. (ben)
