First fully electric Scania in Switzerland
The first fully electric BEV Scania (Battery Electric Vehicle) has arrived in Switzerland. Migros Zurich has purchased two of these vehicles to replace older CNG trucks. They will now be equipped with a refrigerated box body with lifting platform manufactured by Grünenfelder with a partition wall to carry two temperature zones at the same time.
The Swiss retailer will use the vehicles for store deliveries mainly in and around the city of Zurich. All goods that can be bought in the Migros supermarket will be transported - not only fresh products but also non-food and frozen goods. Depending on the route, the trucks will cover between 60 and 150 km a day. (ben)
