First fully electric car transporter in service
In Switzerland, the transport company Galliker, the body manufacturer Kässbohrer and the e-truck manufacturer Designwerk have jointly developed and built the country's first fully electric car transporter.
The vehicle is now ready for operation. It will be used to deliver new vehicles, covering cover around 450 km a day. The electric car transporter has 680 hp and four modular battery packs with a total capacity of 900 kwh.
Besides the engine, Kässbohrer's superstructure is also operated entirely electrically. The battery packs can be charged to 80% of the installed battery capacity overnight or within 95 minutes at 350 kW. (ben)
