First e-truck in the fleet
The Swiss haulage company Thurtrans has put its first fully electric tractor unit into operation. The E-Tech T T4x2 from Renault Trucks is equipped with three 660 hp motors and six 90 kWh battery packs for a range of 340 km.
Before Thurtrans decided to purchase this vehicle, the Thurgau-based transport company, which specialises in refrigerated transport, was able to try out two fully electric Renault trucks on loan from its parent company Schöni.
Schöni recently ordered 25 Renault Trucks E-Tech and will therefore soon be operating over 30 electrically powered trucks, in addition to 350 bio diesel lorries. (ben)
