First destination in Oceania
With its maiden flight from its Shenzhen hub to Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea on 20 August 2023, SF Airlines, the airline of the Chinese courier service SF Express, added its first scheduled destination in Oceania to its network.
The B747-400 freighter carried a load of electrical equipment. With the region, the private cargo airline, whose fleet size has now grown to 84 units, is expanding its radius, which so far extends to 90 destinations from Asia to Europe and USA.
Operational improvements in terms of crew operations and securing additional transport permits are intended to lay the foundation for a regional consolidation of activities - in line with Beijing's proclaimed "One Belt, One Road" initiative. (ah)
