Finnair signs with Swissport once again
Swissport will again provide ramp handling services for the wide-body fleet of its long-time customer Finnair at Helsinki Airport, as the airline steps up its long-haul operations to Asia and USA. Swissport and Finnair have a long-standing partnership.
Finnair has already commissioned the specialist in airport ground services provider and air cargo handling to operate the COOL cargo warehouse, one of the largest temperature-controlled air cargo logistics centres in Northern Europe.
Exactly four years ago, on 14 December 2017, Finnair inaugurated its terminal (see our article ) and the contract was recently extended earlier than expected until 2026. In 2020, Swissport International handled roughly 4.1 million t of air freight (2019: 4.6 million t) at over 100 cargo warehouses worldwide. (cj)
