Fifteen for ZIM
Haifa-based carrier ZIM has decided to use its option for a long-term charter of five more 7,000 teu liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel container vessels from Seaspan Corporation. ZIM and Seaspan announced the transaction already back in July 2021.
The existing long term charter agreement already covers ten 7,000 teu LNG vessels, which are due to be delivered starting from Q4/2023 and into 2024. With this addition, ZIM has now agreed to charter fifteen vessels in this transaction. The value of the option is said to exceed USD 750 million. (cd)
