Factory finder site to combat Covid-19 problems
Where can a set of wheels be overhauled in France? Who can carry out vehicle inspections in Poland? A large number of freight wagon maintenance workshops are only able to carry out a limited amount of work due to the corona pandemic.
Given this problem, the Technical Commission of the Association of Freight Car Owners (VPI) swiftly developed an internet portal that bundles the most important data concerning the availability of the factories and mobile services in Europe. The website includes, inter alia, an interactive map that provides quick and easy access to the information necessary to organize repairs and inspections of railway wagons - free of charge and without restrictions. VPI's European Rail Service (VERS) operates the platform. (ben)
