Facility at inland port Groveport concludes first phase
Specialising in steel, forest products and dry bulk cargo, Groveport is an inland complex on the River Trent. PD Ports, a port operator running 13 UK locations, has just concluded the first phase of a new steel handling facility at Groveport in partnership with the shipper All Steels Trading.
Construction of the new facility, which commenced in March 2019, signifies the largest single investment in the last decade at Groveport. PD Ports’ team handle, store and prepare the steel trader’s products ensuring they are available on demand.
Phase two of the project, which brings All Steels Trading’s footprint at Groveport to over 28,000 sqm, is now underway and will include the full integration of existing and new internal infrastructure. The facility is expected to officially open in spring 2020. (fd)
