Eureka! Swiss Pharma forwarder finds Brexit solution

Departure Lausanne (QLS), arrival Bournemouth (BOH): this is the new air route proposed by NV Logistics to anticipate potential problems with the transport and customs clearance of goods caused by the exit of the UK from the EU.

Specialising in air and sea freight, the Swiss company has sought an innovative solution for its customers, to avoid the bottleneck generated by the inevitable overload of customs formalities at major UK entry points.

NV Logistics' solution for its client Bobst involves chartering a Pilatus PC-12 with an 800 kg capacity, and implementing an unprecedented airfreight route. In a test last week, each step was assessed. They included flight duration, both customs formalities and, afterwards, the transport of the goods to their final destination by a fleet of light vehicles. (ah)
