Eurasian rail service simplified
The United Transport and Logistics Company – Eurasian Rail Alliance (UTLC ERA), part of RZD Holding, has launched a regular multimodal container service between Scandinavia and China. The new service uses a unified CIM/SMGS invoice.
This single CIM/SMGS transport document operates in accordance with the regulatory transport regimes in China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus and Europe. It thus obviates the need to reissue the invoice while the train is en route, eliminates the possibility of errors when reissuing documents and optimises transportation costs, technology and freight delivery times. Freight trains will be dispatched weekly, forming pairs of trains on opposite tracks. (ben)
