Equipment at the SCT
The South Italian terminal operator Salerno Container Terminal (SCT), member of the Eurokai Group and active in the port since 1977, is enhancing its equipment. The terminal has five mobile cranes, three of them post-Panamax. SCT currently operates 11 Liebherr machines, including six Liebherr reachstackers.
A further LHM 800 high rise has recently been in operation. Gianni Di Stasi, vessel and yard manager at SCT, describes the concrete savings potential that has resulted from operating the Liebherr reachstackers. "After one week of testing we recorded an around 40% reduction of diesel consumption." (mw)
