Electric low-floor vehicle collects green waste
Swiss electromobility company Designwerk has handed over the first fully electric low-floor vehicle to transport and waste disposal specialist TIT Imhof.
The Designwerk Low Cab Collect, based on a Mercedes-Benz Econic, collects green waste in various towns and communities in the canton of Thurgau in Switzerland. The vehicle is equipped with a Faun Variopress rear loader provided by Contena Ochsner.
The fully electric low-floor vehicle is already the fifth electric truck from Designwerk to be used at TIT Imhof. The vehicles are full recharged with solar energy when they return to the company’s location in Kreuzlingen after having completed their rounds. (ben)
